Lavender Buds Essential Oil
Steam-distilled aromatic oils from flowers, leaves, resins and roots.
Few plant oils have been studied as often as lavender, mostly for its linalool and its link with relaxation. This lavender essential oil is distilled from the buds alone, and it earns its place in an evening routine twice over: diluted into a carrier for scalp massage, where it may help comfort dryness and itching, and simply for the aroma while you wind down.
Steam distillation is slow and yields little, which is why a real 5 ml bottle costs what it does. Nothing is stretched in afterwards: no parfum, phthalates, silicones, alcohol or mineral oil. The scent is soft and slightly herbal rather than the sharp, sweet note of synthetic lavender.
Can you apply lavender oil directly to skin? It is best diluted: add three to five drops to a spoon of coconut, almond or jojoba oil before using it on skin or scalp. For sleep, put a drop or two on your pillow or in a diffuser. Keep it away from the eyes, and check with your doctor before use in pregnancy or on young children.
Pure steam-distilled lavender oil for scalp massage, hair shine and unwinding at night.

Lavender Buds Essential Oil
Mix three to four drops into a spoon of a carrier oil such as coconut, almond or jojoba. Massage into the scalp or skin, and for the scalp leave it 20 to 30 minutes or overnight before washing with a mild shampoo.
No, always dilute it in a carrier oil first; never apply it neat. Keep it away from the eyes.
Many people find its soft aroma helps them wind down at night. Put a drop or two on your pillow or in a diffuser; it is an aroma, not a sleep treatment, so see a doctor for ongoing sleep trouble.
Diluted into a carrier oil, it makes a pleasant scalp massage that may help comfort dryness and itching. Two or three times a week in the evening is enough; it is not a hair-growth product.
Lavender is one of the gentler essential oils, but it is still a concentrate. Check with your doctor before using it in pregnancy or on young children, and keep the bottle out of their reach.
