Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Steam-distilled aromatic oils from flowers, leaves, resins and roots.
That instant cool feeling on the scalp comes from eucalyptol, and it is the reason this eucalyptus essential oil belongs in a hair-oiling routine. It is a good choice if your scalp feels hot, itchy or heavy, particularly in humid weather, and the crisp aroma is widely used simply to feel more awake.
One botanical goes into the still and one oil comes out: steam distilled, undiluted, with no parfum, phthalates, alcohol or mineral oil topping up the bottle. Five millilitres sounds small until you realise you will only ever use a few drops at a time, always blended into a carrier oil. Handle it as the concentrate it is.
Can you use eucalyptus oil for steam inhalation or a blocked nose? Yes: two or three drops in a bowl of hot water make a clearing steam, with your eyes closed. For the scalp or skin, always dilute it, about three drops in a spoon of coconut or almond oil. Keep it away from young children's faces and check with your doctor during pregnancy.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Mix about three drops into a spoon of a carrier oil such as coconut or almond oil. Massage the blend into the scalp, leave for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo.
No to both. Always dilute it in a carrier oil before it touches skin or scalp, and never take it by mouth.
Yes, two or three drops in a bowl of hot water make a clearing steam; keep your eyes closed. Keep it away from young children's faces, and see a doctor if a blocked nose or cough lasts.
It suits a scalp that feels hot, itchy or heavy, especially in humid weather, because eucalyptol gives an instant cool feeling. Once or twice a week before a hair wash is enough; patch test the diluted blend on your inner arm first.
Eucalyptus is a strong oil. Check with your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing, do not use it on or near the faces of babies and young children, and keep the bottle out of their reach.
