Shaving Cream Bar

Description

Canned foam is mostly propellant and detergent. This shaving cream bar takes the opposite route: cocoa and shea butter sit at the heart of it, with avocado butter, coconut, castor, olive and almond oils built around them. Together they whip into a thick, stable lather that lifts hair upright and lays down a slip layer, so the blade glides instead of dragging across the skin.

It is cold-processed and cured slowly, which keeps the natural glycerin inside the bar rather than stripping it out. A hit of peppermint keeps things cool, palmarosa and cedarwood round out the scent. Nothing synthetic, no SLS, no aerosols, no triclosan, no artificial colour. One solid bar, easily packed.

Shaving soap or shaving cream, which is better for sensitive skin and razor bumps? A butter-rich shaving soap gives a denser cushion with fewer irritants than most foams. Wet your face with warm water, work up a lather with a brush or your hands, shave with the grain, and finish with an alcohol-free after shave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, shaving cream or shaving soap?

For sensitive skin and razor bumps, a butter-rich shaving soap gives a denser cushion with fewer irritants than most foams. Ours whips cocoa and shea butters into a thick, stable lather, with no SLS, aerosol propellants or synthetic fragrance.

Does shaving cream make a difference, or can I use bath soap?

It does. A proper shaving lather lifts hair upright and lays down a slip layer so the blade glides instead of dragging, which a thin bath-soap lather does not do as well.

How do I use a shaving cream bar?

Wet your face with warm water, wet the bar and work up a rich lather with a brush or your hands, apply and shave with the grain. Rinse, pat dry and finish with an alcohol-free after shave.

Is it gentle enough to use every day?

Yes, we make it for every shave. It is cold-processed, so the natural glycerin stays in and skin does not feel stripped; patch test first if your skin reacts easily, as it contains peppermint and other essential oils.

How long does one bar last?

Several weeks to a few months, depending on how often you shave and how much lather you build. Keep it on a draining dish so it dries between uses.

CautionFor external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly if contact occurs. Patch test before use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
