Description

Before serums arrived, there was ubtan, and this 100 gm jar keeps that ritual intact. Turmeric and hibiscus lead: turmeric for its well-documented antioxidant and calming character, hibiscus for its natural fruit acids that behave like a very gentle exfoliant. Anyone with dull, tanned or textured skin who prefers a fresh face ubtan they mix themselves will recognise this as the real thing.

It reaches you as a dry, fragrant powder, so nothing is needed to keep it fresh and you decide the consistency, with water, milk or curd. Pomegranate seed, grapeseed and lemon peel powders bring polyphenols and vitamin C, and rosehip oil is folded in for renewal. Sweet lime scents it. No talc, no dyes, no microbeads.

Can you use ubtan daily, and which is best for oily skin? Twice a week is the sweet spot; ubtan exfoliates, so daily use can leave skin sensitive. Mix it with plain water or rose water for oily skin and with milk for dry skin, leave it for ten to fifteen minutes, and rinse with lukewarm water before it dries hard.
