1WHOLE PLANTS, POWDERS & CLAYS
Amla Powder, Reetha Powder, Shikakai Powder
Three single-herb powders, each in its own pouch.
The three powders Indian homes have washed hair with for generations, in one set. Reetha (soapnut) brings the lather, shikakai keeps the wash gentle and leaves hair soft, and amla adds shine. Mixed with warm water, they make a fresh, sulphate-free herbal shampoo you can adjust to your own hair.
Each powder comes in its own 100 gm pouch, single-herb and finely milled, with no rice flour, fragrance or colour added. Keeping them separate means you choose the ratio: more reetha for an oily scalp, more shikakai for dry or frizzy hair. Not sure where to start? Our guide to amla, reetha and shikakai ratios by hair type walks you through it.
Will your hair feel clean without much lather, and can you use it every wash? Yes: the natural saponins clean well even with modest foam, and the mix is gentle enough to replace shampoo two or three times a week. Give your hair a few washes to adjust if you are coming off silicone-heavy products.

Amla Powder, Reetha Powder, Shikakai Powder
Mix 1 tbsp each of reetha, shikakai and amla in 1 cup of warm water and let it stand for 10 minutes. Massage it into the scalp, work it through the lengths, then rinse very thoroughly, keeping it away from the eyes.
Start with equal parts, 1 tbsp of each. For an oily scalp use 2 parts reetha, and for dry or frizzy hair use 2 parts shikakai, then adjust over a few washes.

Leave it on for 5 to 20 minutes after massaging it in, then rinse very thoroughly. Start at the shorter end if your hair is dry.
Yes, soaking the mix overnight gives a stronger wash; otherwise 10 minutes in warm water is enough. Once mixed with water, use it the same day.
It is gentle enough to replace your shampoo, and two or three washes a week suit most hair. The saponins clean well even with modest foam, so hair coming off silicone-heavy products may take a few washes to adjust.
No, it is not a dye and it cannot regrow hair. It cleans the scalp gently and leaves hair soft and shiny; for hair fall linked to stress, illness or hormones, please see a doctor.
