Coconut Oil by GraceYes — Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil for Hair & Skin, 100 ml

Description

Nearly every Indian household has a coconut oil jar, but most of what is sold has been refined, bleached and deodorised, or quietly cut with mineral oil. Our cold pressed coconut oil is the plain version: coconut, pressed without heat. Its lauric acid is small enough to enter the hair shaft, which is why it is so widely used to reduce protein loss during washing.

On skin it melts on contact and settles into a light, breathable layer instead of a heavy film. Because there is no refining step, the naturally occurring vitamin E and fatty acids stay intact. In cooler weather the oil will solidify; warm the jar between your palms and it turns clear again.

Is coconut oil good for hair fall and can you leave it overnight? Coconut oil cannot stop hair fall caused by health or hormones, but regular pre-wash oiling reduces breakage, which is what much everyday hair fall really is. Massage it into the scalp and lengths and leave it for at least an hour or overnight before washing. Very oily or acne-prone facial skin is better off using it on hair and body only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix rosemary oil with coconut oil?

Yes, coconut oil is one of the most common carrier oils for rosemary essential oil. Stir two or three drops of rosemary oil into a spoon of coconut oil, massage into the scalp and wash out with a mild shampoo; never put rosemary essential oil on the scalp neat.

Is coconut oil good for hair fall?

Coconut oil cannot stop hair fall caused by health or hormones, but regular pre-wash oiling reduces breakage, which is what much everyday hair fall really is. If you are losing a lot of hair suddenly, please see a doctor.

How do I use coconut oil on hair, and can I leave it overnight?

Warm a small amount between your palms, massage it into the scalp and lengths, and leave it for at least an hour or overnight before washing with a mild shampoo. Two or three times a week is plenty.

Is coconut oil a mineral oil?

No. Coconut oil is pressed from the coconut, while mineral oil is a petroleum by-product. Ours is cold-pressed coconut oil and nothing else, with no mineral oil added.

Can coconut oil be applied on the face?

It suits normal to dry facial skin, but it can feel heavy on very oily or acne-prone skin, which is better off using it on hair and body only. Patch test before first use.

Why does coconut oil go solid?

Pure coconut oil naturally sets in cooler weather, below roughly 24 degrees Celsius, so a solid white jar in winter is normal. Warm it between your palms or stand the jar in warm water and it turns clear again.
