Hair Oil

Description

Champi is one habit worth keeping, and what you massage in should earn its place. This herbal hair oil for hair growth support pairs classical Kumkumadi Tailam with brahmi and ashwagandha-infused sesame oil, two herbs long turned to in India for scalp nourishment. It is for anyone with a dry, tired scalp or strands that feel thin and brittle at the ends.

Jojoba leads the blend because it behaves like your scalp's own oil, so the oil sinks in rather than sitting greasy. Pumpkin seed, apricot kernel, almond and evening primrose round it out, with lavender and patchouli making the night-time massage relaxing. Not a drop of mineral oil, silicone or synthetic fragrance goes into the bottle.

Which oil is best for hair fall, and how long should you leave it on? A light, herb-infused blend that you will actually use regularly does more than any single miracle oil. Massage it into the scalp two or three times a week and leave it on for at least an hour, or overnight, before washing. Daily oiling is not needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which hair oil does not contain mineral oil?

Ours. It is a blend of plant oils, including jojoba, sweet almond, coconut, pumpkin seed and brahmi and ashwagandha-infused sesame oil with Kumkumadi Tailam, and has no mineral oil, silicones or synthetic fragrance.

Read the full guide: Hair oil without mineral oil in India: how to read the label, and which oils help hair fall →

What is mineral oil in hair oil?

Mineral oil, often listed as paraffinum liquidum, is a petroleum by-product many hair oils use because it is cheap and gives slip. It coats the hair rather than nourishing it, which is why we use plant oils instead.

Read the full guide: LLP in hair oil: what is paraffinum liquidum, and is it safe? →

How long should I leave hair oil on before washing?

Massage a few drops into the scalp and lengths, then leave for at least an hour or overnight before washing with a mild shampoo. Two or three times a week is ideal; daily oiling is not needed.

Can hair oil reduce hair fall?

Regular oiling keeps the scalp nourished and reduces dryness and breakage, but no oil can stop hair fall caused by stress, illness or hormones, or regrow hair. If you are losing a lot of hair, please see a doctor.

Is this hair oil too heavy for fine or oily hair?

It is lighter than most traditional hair oils because jojoba makes up a large part of the blend. Fine hair does well with a few drops focused on the scalp.

Can kumkumadi oil be used on hair?

Kumkumadi Tailam is a classical saffron-based blend, and in our hair oil we combine it with brahmi, ashwagandha and cold-pressed carrier oils for the scalp. For the face, use our Kumkumadi Face Oil instead.

CautionFor external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly if contact occurs. Patch test before use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
